FC 167

Flame Control No. 167 Class "A" fire retardant varnish overcoat for No. 166. FC 167 has been tested and rated by the Underwriters Laboratories, as an overcoat for FC 166 Class “A” fire retardant “Intumescent” varnish. FC 167 is available in three distinctive sheens, low, semi, or high gloss. The use of FC 167, as a topcoat over FC 166 greatly improves the durability, and cleans ability of No. 166. We recommend that No 167 be used over No. 166 on all surfaces that will be subjected to washing, handling, or where a low, semi, or high gloss finish is desired.

 

Surface Preparation:
After the application of FC 166 has been completed, allow the surface to dry a minimum of 48 hours. Remove all dust, dirt and foreign matter, from the surface, before applying FC 167.

 

Application:
FC 167 overcoat can be applied by brush, roller, or spray. Stir the material well before using, then, apply a uniform coat at a coverage rate up to 1800 sq. ft. In hard use areas, or where excessive wear is expected, a second coat is suggested. Allow at least 24 hours drying time between coats.

 

Thinners:
For thinning and cleaning equipment, use only Mineral Spirits or FC 167 reducer.

 

Warning:
Adequate ventilation must be provided during and after application, until the coating has dried. Avoid breathing vapors or spray mist. Consult product Material Safety Data Sheet and label before opening container.

 

Caution:
The liquid coating contains volatile (combustible) solvents Due care must be exercised during and after application, until the coating is dry.
